My boyfriend of 4 years decided he dodn't want to take me back after a horrible fight. I told him I think we shouldn't be together and he agreed and that was it. Anyways I tried to hold on but I finally gave up and told him to please never call, write, email, text, or anything else. I just needed him all out or all in. That was over a month ago, today he leaves me a message, he was not drunk (he does not drink, ever) to say he hopes I am ok, and that even if I dont call he wishes me the best. What is this about?

it means that you two are being immature about the situation.
You both obviously still have feelings for one another.
Noody likes to fight with someone they care about.
I think you two should take some time out and really think about what you want.
He left you the message because he's thinking about you, hun. You need to seriously talk it through with him and decide what to do for real.
Think if it's really something to fight over. A lot of fights are rediculous and unnecessary.
Think about what he means to you, and if you want that in your life or not.
go fix it.

It's just his way of making himself feel better. Not sure what the big fight was about, but he probably has some feelings of guilt and by calling he's trying to feel better about the actual end of the relationship. He's just trying to save face.
Completely wierd too cuz me and my ex had the same exact situation 3 months ago. I told him to never call, etc....and he did the text and voicemail thing to me too about 2 mths later. Other people on yahoo answers also mentioned it may be his way of testing the waters to see if you would take him back.

4 years?, girlfriend...
a relationship that long shouldn't have ended like that, but sometimes that is the only way.
Obviously he still loves you or has enough love for you to call and think of you.
If you are trying to move on, don't call.
If you decide to call, then maybe you guys can settle something. It seems like he still respects you, and that means a lot. Think about it.

very simple. he is a man, and by nature men do not like to be rejected. the more you push him away, the more he wants to conquer it back. closer, and nicer you are to a man he looses interest with time and he drives away. well, 4 years is a long time, so maybe everything became too normal, boring. they need intrigue, they need competition. or simply, maybe he finally realised that he truly loves after he lost you. you never know know what you lost until you loose it.

he still has strong feelings for u. maybe u should talk to him and clear it out. but when guys usually call a girl after break up saying ll the best and stuff, it usually involves a hangover of the relationship. but ull really know only when u talk to him

He still cares about you and wishes to be with you. Why are you so worried about one stupid message it could be just between friends. Unless you still have feelings for him and you just don't want to admit it.

i think maybe he cares about you on a deep level of friendship and trust, but doesnt necessarily want a relationship. he just honestly wants you to be okay and happy.
