~ Seems to me they're already convinced you do NOT need one, or they would have given one to you.

~ If you had a proper up-bringing, you and your parents (siblings too) would all have excellent communications, love and respect for each other... with this setting, if the parents felt you were in danger... needed and emergency access phone... etc., I'm sure the topic would have already been discussed and you would not have written the question for the world to answer...

... but...

~ You asked... they (parents) have not responded (or offered?)

~ My guess is that they know ALL your friends have cell phones, so you always have a phone to grab and call home with your excuse why you won't be home on time
... or... your parents know your grades... your attitude... neither of which are worthy of providing more time away from study time... fun time...
... so... be patient... Pray to the Lord for your parents... how blessed you are to have a roof over your head... a room of your own... a closet full of clothes... a box full of jewelry... more than one pair of shoes... a bag full of makeup... a warm home in the winter... a cool home in the summer... hot and cold water... an indoor toilet...
BE THANKFUL for what you DO have... give praise to your parents for providing for you. Love your parents... respect their decisions... (yes, it's ok to share your point of view, but you still have to respect them... they know what is best for you at this time in your life).

~ Be patient... God has great plans for you...

Guessing that you must be a tweeny and not yet a teen, I might suggest you ask them to consider a pre-payed set-up, maybe even added to their service. Several Co.s now have such plans for tweens and teens. Most parents barf at $900 a month cell phone bills. If you blow all your minutes text messaging in the first day or so, you will soon learn their is a lot of responsibility to having one.

First get a job, then u start to give your parents, oh lets say a $100 a month. when you have given them about 2 grand you can ask them then to get u a phone. that way when u run the bill up (and u will) you'll have a deposit back-up for them to pay it with.

1) Brainstorm and write down your reasons of why you need one.

2) Prioritize them, listing from most sensible (i.e. common sense or safety) down to least sensible (i.e. "a way for you guys to contact me anywhere I go").

3) Research phone plans online (or in store) and realize the pricing and quality of Plans vs. Phones.

4) Make a list of reasonably priced plans, phones or packages (phone+plan package). These have to be from reasonably trusted companies (phones/services).

5) Make sure these phones/services will work in your "coverage area"...possibly find info on the quality of reception in that area.

6) Make a list of definite ways (jobs that YOU would follow through on, with school as top priority) to earn some of the money that would be needed to pay for a cell phone/plan. Also, calculate how the phone/plan totals would add up to in a year's time. (This will help you know what your parents would want you to to realize and discuss, in order to convince them.)

7) Print out a few pages of this information, (or talk to them and show them online)
-your reasons for why you could use a cell phone
-your research on phones
-your research on plans
-your research on service company
-your research on the costs (monthly & yearly)
-your pledge of getting a certain type of job
-your "deal" or collaboration with them on the cost (if I bought the phone with my own money, would you pay for my monthly phone service? or every other month? or you pay for the phone and I set aside my earned money to pay for each month of service?)

(Ask in the phrase of a suggestion, without whining or demanding.)

Also, take a look at prepaid (phonecard) plans...

Cool and chilled is stable. Having a telephone for emergency applications is a great ingredient. i'm so chuffed my mothers and dads finally have been given my sister a cellular telephone. My sister stupidly places herself in risky circumstances on a prevalent foundation so it extremely is stable to be waiting to call and locate out the place she is so we are in a position to circulate rescue her. it extremely is stable to be waiting to call for help once you choose it. i might propose which you respectfully ask your mothers and dads for a cellular telephone and intensely flippantly (if the region stops being calm, in basic terms replace the subject and await a extra effectual time to communicate approximately it) element the protection reward of having a cellular telephone. proceed to furnish to pay for the minutes. The invoice is frequently the biggest reason mothers and dads do no longer prefer to offer their infants a telephone.
