Dont worry, nature will take it's course. The mother cat will deliver the kittens and everything will be ok.

I would count the amount of time the birthing is taking (there could potentially be problems if a pregnancy is taking too long id est. the babies aren't coming out of the birthing canal).
Try to call an emergency vet clinic (there is usually one around, or a doctor on call at night willing to get back to you) and let them know what is going on.
There are times when mother's need to be assisted in having their babies, and times when things can go wrong.

I've helped deliver several litters of kittens (even pulled a few too big for the mother to deliver easily) The most immediate sign is when she starts licking herself a lot down there. You will see her strain for a few minutes and then you should see a sack-like thing start coming. don't worry, cats do very well at this. Just enjoy seeing your "grand-kitties" come into the world!!!

Seriously...there HAS to be an emergency vet clinic somewhere near you...but I think that animals give birth all the time without medical aide. Think about cats living in the wild. It will be ok, and soon you will have some amazing kittens...then go get your cat spayed please...the statistics on cats is ridiculous...one litter is enough! Good luck!!!

I've had a cat that had several litters but that never happened to her. That sounds strange, I would take her to the vet, something might happen to the kittens

Kittens are born when they are ready to be born. The mother doesn't seem to be in any stress. Leave her alone to do her job. You are more of a hindrance, then a help. She'll be fine. Have her sterilized as soon as the babies are weened.

Congradulations:) how exciting! but depending on how long she has been in labor you may need to get her to the vet if they don't come naturaly on their own in a few hours. Sorry i cant be of mor e help. but I've never delivered kittens before.

If she hasn't delivered any by 7am or so, start calling the vet. Most vet offices these days have morning Saturday hours.
