Imagine this... you have a blind brother. He needs to do some banking. He can't drive, right? He'll crash and he can't pass the eye test at DMV anyway so you being the nice brother you are, let him sit in the backseat of your car and you drive him to the bank. You pull up in the drive-thru and stop the car so his backseat window lines up with the ATM machine. Bingo!

Because the same keypads and face panels are used for drive-up machines and walk-up machines. It's cheaper and easier to make one universal panel than two different components for different applications.
