I would disagree with that... you shouldnt be rewarded for getting the grades you are capable of getting... do you reward your parents for doing their job of taking care and providing for you? I would bet not... probably not even a thank you... so why should you be rewarded for doing your job? which is what going to school is.. your job.
your education is the most important thing, because it will determine the rest of your life... believe it or not... think about it....♥

I do think it's silly to ground you for not getting an A, but just because you do well doesn't mean you should automatically be rewarded. I know being rewarded tends to motivate people, but you should do well because you want to and you should be proud of yourself (as lame as that sounds). Also, you're only in seventh grade so a cell phone is not a necessity. I doubt you're out extremely late with friends, and you more than likely want one to be like everyone else and to be able to text and such. If that's not the reason, talk to your parents about getting one but I'm sure they have a pretty good reason for not allowing you to have one just yet.

I think they just want you to have a good education and they want you to actually do your work and LEARN something, unlike all of the other (spoiled or lazy) people who decide not to do anything. You can talk to your parents about the cell phone thing, like tell them that you'll get all A+'s this (next) semester if they would get you a cell phone that summer. If they say no, explain to them how hard you have been working and that this would be a reward

I'm in seventh grade too, and my mom also expects a LOT from me. She doesn't go that far, though. You should set it straight with your parents. You should tell them that the grades they want you to get are unrealistic, and you can't be the best at EVERYTHING you do. You will have subjects that you are really good at and other ones you aren't so good at. Expecting that much of you is only going to put more stress on you, and believe me starting in middle school, the work is not easy. You should explain to them that sometimes the effort is more important than the actual grade, and as long as you are up in the A range you are doing as well as you can. Also, do you have older siblings? Sometimes that has something to do with why parents put so much pressure on their younger kids. If you have a really smart older sibling, that might be part of the reason why they expect that much from you.

You don't get rewards immediately in life for just doing what you are supposed to be doing. If you are capable of getting A's then do it. It will pay off in a better education.
You are acting VERY immature for a girl who gets all As, so maybe you ought to read some things about maturity and responsibility.

The reason smart parents do not give cell phones to their kids is so they wont be making secret dates, talking things over the phone they shouldnt be discussing etc.The temptation is there and whats bad is I see so many kids with cell phones stuck to their heads and life just passing them by, and sad to say, many adults as well.

Life isn't fair. Deal with it unless you want to be a very unhappy person.
You're getting straight-As, and that's a great thing. Later as you're enjoying the extra income you earn as a result of those As, maybe you wiil have a better understanding of what's important in life.

Welcome to life, princess. Life is not fair. You will probably bust your butt for the next nine years and some jerk who barely looks at a textbook will still get the job ahead of you. It sucks.
