I have a few scars, some are big like a knife wound and some are smaller like shrapnel.

Battle scars are so heroic. Who can't love a hero? Heroes are taller than all of us. They tower. They're role models - action heroes. Women feel protected around solid military men. You're tough as rocks. You know what challenges feel like. You know how to take it, how to beat the challenges. How to survive. Soooo romantic.

My Dad took some pretty serious injuries in Vietnam, Mom knew him and had been dating before, they married after he got out of the hospital. They've been married for 38 years.

I myself was pretty banged up in a construction accident a while back. I've got some pretty bad surgical scars and other disabilities. Had been married before the accident, but got divorced. Met my current wife after the accident and we've been happily married for the past 5 years.

My wife is a knock out by anyone's standards and the best thing that's ever happened to me. Understanding, supportive, the absolute love of my life.

No reason that injuries should even be an issue. The people that matter are the ones who either look passed, or just don't notice stuff like that. Just be yourself and try not to focus on the bad, it'll only make you bitter.

I have many scars. I have a prominent scar on my face, even. Many women find me winsome, appealing, even. As far as friends or family, it's made very l;ittle difference. Many folks will find your appearance disturbing, mabe even scarey. It's a big burden to live with that sort of automatic rejection. I don't mean to discount your experience, but if you have to be patient and let folks get to know the real you the payoff will be that they will find you beautiful. I wish you the best. It's not easy.

Anyone who can't look past the scars and at the person inside doesn't deserve you as a friend.

your scars are part of your story. a person who is unable to like you with your scars is not worth your time. surround yourself with positive people.

Well I'll give you about as much honesty as I can. That depends on you, the people, and how bad off you are. Looks matter a little and you may not be your best judge so you're just going to have to find out for yourself.
