Can they enter your home without permission? Can they ask for ID from the party-goers? Can they force people to leave? Or can they only site you for noise?

They can only sight you for noise, they need a warrant to enter your home, they probably are allowed to request ID as well but I am not sure about the ID thing.

This would depend on the jurisdiction and laws in the area where the party was. To answer for Florida, if the party was extremely loud and disturbing the peace of the neighborhood the officers would normally come by and speak to the owner and give a warning to keep the noise down and party goers inside but they are not required to do so. After that if things are out of control they can in fact enter the home for an open house type party to shut it down. Once inside as part of their investigation, or to possibly check for underage drinkers they can in fact check peoples identification. The best bet is that if you are having a big party invite the cops...just kidding but...many cities or towns will allow you to actually obtain a permit for the party under certain conditions. As a general rule cops hate to break up parties but if we get called there 4 or 5 times by residents we have to take some action. I always do my best to avoid any adverse action for that.
Good luck

So many grey areas. First off, assuming you answer the door, and have a chain on it, if you acknowledge the police presence, and promise to comply to resolve the noise issue, it shouldn't go any farther. "However", when the door is open, and the police observe behavior that is a blatant violation of the law, such as drug use, minors drinking, etc., the right of eminent domain is no longer applicable. Party hardy, but don't be a fool.

When police are called to a disturbance or a noise complaint, and they see this clearly, they can enter your home, and they can ask for ID's if they feel that alcohol is possibly being served to minors. Noise complaints and disturbances, even parties, can be considered "Disorderly Conduct", which is a misdemeanor. And if they choose not to make arrests, yes.... they can make people leave.

Depends on what happens...
If when you open the door, they see alcohol/paraphernalia and suspect the party-goers of being underage, then it's plain sight and they can check IDs.
If the party is far too loud and the neighbors have complained a lot, then they can break it up.

All of the above, plus they can pretty much search at will because the party has given them probable cause to enter and search.

If an officer believes a crime is in progress he/she may take the necessary action to address the crime. Yes, the can enter if a crime is in progress (public disturbance) or they believe a crime is in progress (subjects appear under age).
