my dog of almost 6 years was hit by a car about 2 months ago and nowone apologized. He was a small chocloate chihuahua my little boy.

I cant get over it,and just today I went out to the grave and noticed you can only tell by the overturned dirt it is a grave and I thought"that is so common"how can I make it pretty and noticable.like a human grave. What can I do to make it look nice.Despite the hurry to bury him he is buried not even 2 feet in.so I dont wanna put posts and things deep in the ground.

would flowers help?

also there is big tree right in front of him, could I do anything to that?

Thanks

Sorry for your loss, you could plant a special bush over the spot.

Why did you let your dog run in the street??

I'm very sorry that you lost your Chihuahua. I understand what a hard time you must be going through.

Although he is only two feet in, you should still put a cross there at least 1/2 foot deep in the ground. Paint it white so it is easy to see. Plant a square of flowers (4 rows of flowers around grave like a square), maybe a SMALL tree at the back of the grave (like a small shady area), put some photos of him either on a headstone or just in a frame, get his favorite toy and place it near the cross/headstone/tree and put something personal there. His food bowl, collar and/or leash would be a great idea. You could also cover the grave with pebbles or small stones so that it isn't just dirt covering him.

I don't think that you have the right to remove the big tree but ask someone (the council) if you can remove it.

Again, I am very sorry for the loss of your little boy.

First off, so sorry for your loss. I know at PetSmart they have a section that has headstone type things for pets. The most common one I have seen is a nice stone marble looking cross that has a place where u can permanently mount your dogs id tag with his name on it and a picture of him if you like. Also, I would suggest planting a flower on his grave. That way it would never die and would always be there. Also, it would be a sign of life, it is a growing thing; symbolizing that he might be gone but he lives forever in your heart. As far as the tree goes, you could carve his name in it. I hope some of these suggestions help. Also, the cross/headstone deal is easily mountable and requires no digging, you just anchor it in the ground real good with a pointed end type deal similar to the ends on like garden decorations made to stick in the ground. SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS HOPE I HELPED GOD BLESS YOU

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my boy Bogie 6 months ago and my whole family absolutely loved him. He was so smart that we respected each others space. Anyway, In our case my wife and I did get cards and tears from many of our family and friends. You might want to think of reburying him in a place in your yard that will get attention and respect. I mounded Bogie's grave ever so slightly but enough to let you know he is there. Last, by the grace of God, wild Flowers have started growing there, so I do not need to grow flowers there. There are also sites on the Net where you can get him head stones. My sympathies.

You can get some very nice concrete pet markers . Have a look in the phone book for garden ornaments or statuary.

You could get a flat paving block and paint his name on it as a marker.

You could planrt flowers on the grave or a nice shrub of some sort.

Dont blame your mother too much. Little dogs sometimes get out and accidents happen.

First off I'm very sorry for your loss. You can buy headstones just like for humans. The cheapest that i have seen is on the website: www.drsfostersmith.com
You can also just find a big stone and paint it and put it over the head of the grave. Put his name and birth and death dates on it. Put some of his favorite toys around it. Its your area to go to grieve him so make it what you want it to be.
Good luck with this!!

One easy way would be to make a small marker for him. A small bag of Quikrete and some boards to place around to form the shape you want until the concrete hardens. You can easily write whatever you want into the cement before it dries. I've also put my dog's name tag down into the cement as well. Another nice aspect about making a flat marker is that you can easily mow that spot without disturbing the marker.

Put stones around it. The stones should be large enough to be buried half in while still sticking out conspicuously. Putting flowers in the middle of this ring will accentuate the presence of the flowers.

so sorry for your loss.I too had a problem with it so here is what i did.I put a decorative fence, plastic around the grave in a square then three bricks on top then a small wrought iron table and sit a beautiful plant on the table to flow over the sides, its in one of my flower beds so is easy on the eyes and the heart.

Find a beautiful rock and set it on the place he was buried.... or cover the spot with a couple of sheets of newspaper (to slow weed growth) then add smooth river pebbles on top. It would be a memorial that anyone would notice. It would be tasteful and understated. Your love and dedication would be there for all who looked to see.

I found this website that offers a stone marker at a very reasonable cost. I've not used it myself, but thought that the items looked like something that you might be interested in. I'm sorry for your loss; I'm sure that decorating the grave sight will help to ease your pain.

Peace
