I think I remember seeing it on tv. A lady used a tooth pick to poke holes in the banana with the peel still on and when she peeled the peel off, the banana was in little chunks. Maby i was wrong but i thought i was it. Please help!

Actually, it's sometime done as a magic trick but it involves more than a toothpick. In fact, I prefer a needle. For one thing, it makes a smaller hole. For another, it's useful in the trick prep.

Yes, I do believe that could be done, but the toothpick would have to be sharp enough to penetrate the banana's skin.
Consider this, if you put those holes close enough together, peel or no peel, couldn't you foreseeably cut that banana into chunks? Yes, I do believe so.
If you don't believe me, get a banana and a box of toothpicks and try it out!

Something else that is completely separate for you to ponder, can a chopstick be used as a knife while eating Chinese food if a piece is too big to eat regularly with chopsticks? The answer is yes. I have done it many times, and it confuses the hell out of any onlookers! But you also look more civilized when eating smaller bites instead of big hunks of meat or food like a barbarian!

Yes if you poke the toothpick through and jiggle it side to side.

But the question is - why the heck would you want to slice the banana? I always eat bananas by peeling them slightly, biting off a chunk, peeling them some more, etc (the way you would eat a sub without getting your hands messy).

It always makes me laugh when I see people taking off the entire peel and then put their bare hands on the slippery banana.

PS: Something else to consider is that poking a toothpick through introduces germs from the peel into the fruit.

I don't think it's possible to do it that way unless you make ALOT of holes. And then, it'd be quicker to use a knife. Although, bananas are soft enought that you could use the toothpick like a knife. :-)
