There are no restaurants outside of this area that serve blue crabs from the Chesapeake Bay and I don't know why?

The best places to get Maryland Blue Crabs is Maryland and Delaware like you said, but also Virginia. The reason being is that the blue crabs are harvested in the Chesapeake Bay, which is mainly in Maryland and Virginia. Anywhere in close proximity to the bay will be easy to get some. Southeast Pennsylvania has some nice places. For the best crab houses in my opinion, go to Kent Narrows, MD. It is about 1 hour from DC (east) and has about 6 crab houses within 1 mi of each other. Many of the crab boats take there catch and sell it directly to the restaurants, thus making them cheaper.

You can get them other places, but they are not as good, they are regional.
