How about something to help you with a hobby you have or something to help you check out a possible new hobby. Think of the things you like to do and what would make them more fun or help you do more with them. Music stuff is good for most ppl and something to listen on or even play on. Gift certificates to stores you like that you can use for clothes or whatever. A prepaid gift or credit card you can use at a lot of different places. Computer related stuff.
What is your wildest imagination of what you's like to do? What is the nearest to that you can get? For example a guy I know wanted to be a super action pilot but had actually never been in a plane so his cousin rented a plane (complete with pilot of course) and the 2 of them went up for a couple of hours. Another friend has dreams of being a music star her sis gave tickets w/ back stage passes.
If all else fails how about a cell or time card for cell if prepaid, accessories, ring tones etc.
