See an infectious disease Dr. Also get an RX for Bactroban ointment with which to treat skin lesions. You'll probably need oral and possibly IV antibiotics. Also realize that the staph germs colonize in your nose so even if you get your skin cleared the infection is still in your nose. Search the YA archives for previous responses using staph, colonization, Bactroban and mupirocin as your key words. There are many long responses in the Archives. Also search for intranasal Bactroban. This article will get you started.

Treat and cure the intranasal colonization and then you have a much better chance of curing the cellulitis. You can treat both the colonization and the cellulitis simultaneously.

Where is your cellulitis? Do you have diabetes? Lupus? Venous stasis? Why do you have it?

Have you been on antibiotics? Are you doing wet-to-dry dressings, or what do they have you doing to treat it? You should be going to a wound clinic to be treated. Many general practitioners are not up on the latest wound treatments and will refer patients to wound specialists who are. Depending on the reason for your cellulitis, you should be seeing a specialist. Cellulitis is very difficult to treat if you have the conditions I mentioned above or other chronic health problems.
