when your hair breaks off, you have to cut your hair as short as you can take. its kind of like startin gover. use a new ceramic straightener instead of the one your using, if you must at all. dont colour your hair for a while and just wash your hair throughly. your hair will be clean and new.

you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Make sure your shampoo is a solid color and not clear. The clear ones are usually clarifying which can dry your hair out. If your hair doesnt get greasy easily try not to wash it everyday so the natural oils can moisturize your hair. Trimming the split ends will also help. Start using a deep conditioner once a week to keep your hair from drying out. If you use a flat iron everyday use silkdrops(such as SOsilk) on your damp hair before you blowdry, then use a product such as a spray or pomade that is made specifically for a flat iron I use "One 'n Only Ceramic Silk thermal protection ironing creme" You can get good products like this at Sally Beauty Supply or at your stylist.

I would stay away from the flat iron for a wile. I suggest Pantene Shampoo. It got rid of my split ends. Plus, They have in a varity of types for different types of hair. Oily, Dry, Normal, for more Body Hard to Manage etc. Plus, It smells really good too. Good Stuff !!, Wont do ya wrong. If this works, then You can try Your flat iron again ( if You want to or not, cuz dry heat does damage the hair, I've heard.) and see how it goes.
Have a Great Day.

First of all you need to use a GOOD shampoo, they are more pricey but you pay for what you get. Try something like Paul Mitchell or a product sold in your salon. The only thing you can do for split ends is let your hair grow more and cut them off, there is no way to repair the ends. Now what you need to do when using your flat iron is not leave it on your hair too long, that is what is causing the damage to your hair. It fries it. Use the iron quickly and maybe try using a product in your hair before you use the iron to help assist you in getting the results that you want. There are many products out there, but as I said earlier, go to your salon and buy them, not a store such as Walmart. If you want beautiful hair you have to pay for it and take care of it!

First take Biotin vitamins. I take a 5mg (5000mcg) pill everyday and my hair has grown at least an inch in a couple of months. Get your hair trimmed once every couple of months too, so you won't get split ends. You can also try a hot oil treatment every two weeks to keep your hair healthy.
Also try some deep moisturizing shampoo and conditioner from a salon. A lot of highly scented shampoo's and conditioners have a lot of alcohol in them, this alcohol dries your hair out like crazy! You could also try a hot oil treatment. Your hair has lost it's moisture. You just need to keep taking vitamins (especially Vitamin E, helps your hair the most) and keep taking it step by step. It will take a while for your hair to get back to the way it was. Good Luck!!

i agree with some of what was said, get a trim, condition treatment- try dandruff shampoo if your hair or scalp is dry but switch around......when you use the straightening iron, make sure your hair is dry & don't use styling product until after, try doing it fast on medium heat
herbal essence has a lotion called Breaks Over and there's a few more to help prevent splitting

i have the same problem!! its my biggest pet peeve. but the thing I'm doing wrong is the way i dry my hair when i shower. i rub it with the towel instead of squeezing. it's just been a habit since i was young. but i get a trim every 4-6 weeks. that helps alot!!

but a flat iron does do a number on your hair, i suggest if you haven't already is use a protective spray for your hair before you iron. you can get something like that pretty much anywhere.

hope you find a quick fix!

Do you cut the ends of your hair after you wash it if there are split ends if you do maybe you should bye a different flat iron and if it's your shampoo try creme of nature shampoo it leaves your hair nice and healthy.

I totally know what you mean! I have a lot of split ends aswell and it's a bit frustrating. The omly thing you can do is get a trim and then start using an intensive conditioner on the ends. Also, try and not use your hair straightener as often. Good luck!

if you use a flat iron all the time you should look into getting a flat iron spray or thermal spray. this will protect the hair from the hot styling tools and you may also want to trim the ends of your hair and get a conditioning treatment or get a good conditioner (NOT OIL!) and put it on your damp hair and wrap it in a warm towel leaving it on for approx. 20 minutes, this will close the cuticle and soften the hair. GOOD LUCK!! :)
