Is Canada not part of North America? People say "God bless America," not "God bless the United States of America." With this little loop hole, you can include yourself in this saying, as can the people of South America.

Only if you want it to...and then it only means that to you.
Most people interpret it to mean God bless America. Not, God smite every country and their dogs that are not American.

While it may seem that "God bless _________" (whatever your country is) is a harmless and hopeful wish for God's blessing, it has proven to be a form or worship in itself and a unfortunate source of division among people who should instead be united under one God. Those who truly love their creator should realize that he created all of us regardless of where we happen to have been born and avoid nationalism.
