My brother drinks at least a bottle of wine during the evening most every night and maybe a mixed drink or two (his business encourages it) and has done so for many years.
He has a little kid now and wants to stop, does he need rehab to quit? He seems to be ok at the end of the day.....

That's up to him..but, it's going to be hard - if he can do it on his own, I give him credit! One thing I know is he will probably find it alot harder to fall asleep at night (without any alcohol in his system) Best of luck to you

I believe he will need help to quit, I did.
