We should start holding their employers just as accountible as them because without a job they would have little incentive to keep coming.

No, I think that it's mostly a waste of money. If someone really truly wants something, they'll find a way to get it. I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually have tunnels that are hundreds of miles long to avoid the border patrol. And making the borders harder to cross probably won't change many immigrants minds, especially if they are living in poverty or have sick parents or kids. They'll do anything to cross the border.

There is a zero tolerance zone around Del Rio which has reduced crime and crossings by about 70% as I understand it. They simply enforce the law with jail sentences already on the books.
