It really does depend on the dentist and the seriousness of the procedure. Some dentists ask what you prefer. I would just reccommend asking to be put to sleep for the surgery.

I had 2 "wisdom" teeth pulled at your age. The novacain numbs you completely (and doesn't hurt). I was awake while Jonny Cash sang "Boy Named Sue", over the speakers. All 3 of us had to laugh when he sang the part, "...and he bit off a piece of my ear...and we rolled around in the blood and the guts and the beer", just as the dentist layed a little piece of (my) meat on my bib. The timing was SO funny! William, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I went to school the next day with a GREAT story!

Yes the dentist will put you to sleep. My two year old son had surgery last Saturday. His tooth/cavity was absessed and
it had to be taken out. I was able to stay in the room with him
until he feel asleep, and came in immediatly after. The
surgery was less than thirty minutes.

When I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed I asked NOT to be put to sleep. I get sick from anesthesia. So they just gave me laughing gas & I was in La-La Land. Didn't feel a thing & recovery was a breeze. I would do it the same way if I had to again. Hope all goes well for you!

i've got no longer had a tooth implant, yet I quite have had 4 everlasting tooth got rid of in important oral surgical technique if that's what you propose by "roots." They thoroughly sedated me so i replaced into subconscious the completed time. It does not extremely matter style which one you request when you consider which you will no longer sense something with the two. even in spite of the shown fact that, being thoroughly under replaced into certainly much less annoying when you consider which you're actually not unsleeping to sense them moving around on your mouth and hear them drilling *shudders*. i replaced into in basic terms sore for a pair of week afterwards, i could no longer consume something that desires to be chewed to swallow. For the the remainder of the 1st day i could no longer even take a seat as we communicate up because of the fact blood might randomly gush from the stitches. area outcomes from the medicine they used to place me under (overlook what it is called) replaced into that I had amnesia and did no longer keep in mind something that handed off from the time I first awoke to various hours later. That replaced into fairly disorienting yet in retrospect on it i might fairly no longer be alert whilst my mouth is being prodded. The surgical technique did no longer harm, the area that harm is what occurs after once you attempt to consume or by twist of destiny touch your jaw area. 6 months? I want you the better of high quality fortune with that! @arnie- They did in fact make me subconscious. The "reminiscence impairment" replaced into no subject because of the fact (on the time i replaced into 8) my mom stayed with me the completed time. I actually do no longer comprehend what problem you have with that, it extremely is unlike you notice an approved wellbeing practitioner taking income of reminiscence impaired sufferers prevalent.

It is a choice, but most people prefer to be put to sleep.

you will be asleep. They use gas so you won't feel pain. It might hurt afterwards but you won't remember the surgery

i doubt any doctors would conduct a surgery on a conscious person. unless, like, they want to see you die from a heart attack.
