I have an older model tv GE model 8-2548. The power went out in my place and at the time the tv was on. Now it won't turn back on at all with or without the remote (which is a Zenith remote) which requires codes that I don't know. When I tried unpluging it, the tv came on briefly... less than a second (when I pulled the plug out of the socket..... Anyone have any ideas? I don't know what to do. No mean answers please!! I'm already frustrated :-) thanks in advance.

OK, so when you UNPLUG IT....the sound circuits "grunt", Am I correct?

I can only guess....since I'm not there to test/verify it...

The horizontal circuit or the power supply itself has died, most likely the 128 Volt line to the Horizontal.....

The low voltage and audio circuits can still supply power.

Those OLD STYLE GE numbers tells me this TV has been out for about 20 years, and this is an OLD TV....
