What's the biggest amount you have ever personally spent at your local DMV in one transaction?

As for me, I spent almost a grand yesterday on taxes on my new car.....uhh, I thought I was gonna puke when I handed over my debit card! That's the most for me so far. How about you...or have you mercifully forgotten?

well on long island in ny the tax is 8.625% so on a $60,000 lexus or bmw etc the tax alone would be over 4200 add another 160 or so for two year reg and title fee and custom plates. Consider your self lucky it was only a grand. I run a fleet of cars and our average dmv fee is well over 3 grand with sales taxes and all the plate fees
