I was always partial to King Silver Crown avionics. That's what I have in my 411. Bounce down to your local FBO and look his stuff over. They've probably got all sorts of light-weight goodies that would be new to me.

Its only worth it if you need to use 7600.
Personally, I would use the money for a beacon, and a good radio, and hand held radio.
Remember, old planes have alot more electrical problems than new ones, so if you lose electric, you lose radio and transponder, so nobody knows whats up but you. And if you crash, all they have is your last radar contact, which may be quite a distance from where you went down.
The beacon would activate on contact, and would give them your exact position.

A Rockwell/Collins with GPS etc. would be nice but there ARE hand held beacon/radio packages out there as well as GPS. And their batts can be re-charged...
