I just got a new computer and instead of importing all my cd's to itunes again, can i just get a memory card or something and use it to transport my music to my new computer from my old one?

It depends on how large your library is, but a USB Flash drive is the way to go. I suggest getting something in the range of 512MG-1GB as you will find those sizes most useful.
