I am transfering from a community college to a public four-year for Fall 2007. I always filed for the BOGFW while attending community college. I was told I needed to file the FAFSA to recieve aid in the Cal State I was transfering to by March 2nd. Unfortunately I did not do it in time. Can I still file the FAFSA and recieve aid for the 07-08 school year? What other financial aid options are avaliable at this point?

go on to the fafsa website and apply for a pin and after you get a pin apply for the fafsa the priority deadline is to get more money but you can still get money not as much as you would if you had file before march 2nd

I think it depends on what sort of aid you are referring to/interested in as to whether that deadline makes a difference. For grants, that state-by-state priority deadline may make a difference. But if you are talking about Federal loans, then that state date is completely irrelevant. The deadline for filing the FAFSA to receive guaranteed Federal loans for the 2007-2008 academic year would be 30 June 2008.

Talk to the college you are transferring to. It might not be too late. Good luck. I used FAFSA during some of the years when I was in a CA state university and got grants that helped me out a whole lot!

the feds do no longer provide you extra money based on the reality which you elect to bypass to an high priced out of state college. So what you get now would be with regards to a similar volume as in case you bypass out of state. for this reason instate colleges are so familiar. it rather is especially stuipd to pay 10 extra for some thing you will get down the line at a fraction of the fee. Esp for those fin help scholars who don't have the money at first. No company is going to pay you a a techniques better earnings in view which you stupidly elect to pay 10 extra for an training than you mandatory to. it rather is like going and driving around the state line to purchase a gallon of milk for 23 money rather of four. stupid and fully an inmature determination. do no longer forget approximately you would be charged out of state the entire time you're at that college. they won't shrink your classes when you have been there a year or 2. as quickly as an out of state, constantly an out of state.
