After 15 minutes or so -before I'm even tired- my breathing gets so fast. Just looking for tips on how to better keep this under control.

keep jogging slowing for longer periods of time. this will train your cardio vascular muscles, which will help your heart become stronger, and that will make running easier

When Jogging try to take slower deeper breaths, in through the nose and out through the mouth. Faster breathing you will only use part of your lungs and the rest is stored CO2. Also try starting to run slower and working your way up. Also it helps to keep thinking about things other than running and breathing so the breathing becomes second nature.

When I run (of which I should do more often...alas...), I try to breath rhythmically. Sorta like: jog jog breath jog jog breath. I've found that, at least for me, this helps me keeps at a steady pace and able to run longer. Breathing all spastically does more wear on your body, and you feel more tired more quickly. Hope this helps!!

Jog a bit slower. If you can sing a song while jogging your going to slow. Conversely if you can talk but your a bit breathless you're doing it just right.

I have experience with this. I had trouble myself when I was learning how to breathe properly while running.

I learned after my season of Cross-Country. To control your breathing you have to INHALE air from your nose and EXHALE through your mouth.

Good luck to you!

I always try to breath in with my nose and out with my mouth. Usually slows my breathing down. I guess you're really not supposed to breathe in and out of your mouth while exercising.

count steps as you jog, 4 steps inhaling 3 steps exhaling(or similar pattern) start the pattern right away in the jog. you may start jogging in a 6-5 pattern, then end up in a 3-2 pattern by the end. just make it consistant.
