if this guy send birthday message does it mean anything?

We are friends for many years, not very close but meet up sometimes due to work related thing. I never told him my birthday and i received his birthday msg which was surprising. Does it means he may be interested or just friendly?

I think a little bit of both but dont go for flirting cause it can totally screw up your work life !

normally that would just be him being friendly. but you never know, it could be something more. ;)
