first uncompress them using a free software called 7zip, after that you can use appropriate program to play/run the uncompressed file

You cant play them in that format, an .RAR is a compressed file, like .zip. You need WinRAR to extract the file before you can do anything with it. Get winRAR here:

You cannot play rar files. it is a compressed file. find WinRAR extractor to extract it first.

these files are generally compressed files, kind of like zip files.. you have to download the program that decompresses them and restores them to their original names etc..
