Are you talking about the Progresso soup diet? if so.. I've tried it. It works because some of their soups are low in calories (100 calories or less per serving) but theres usually 2 servings per can so be careful of that. and yes, their soups are rather high in sodium and carbs, but if you're just a calorie-counter like me, theyre great

And just how long do you plan on eating nothing but chicken noodle soup? 1 month? A year? Surely not the rest of your life! Even if this junk did work, what happens after you lose the 15/20/whatever pounds? Go back to eating McDonalds and Taco Bell again? Diets like this are pointless and cycylic. This junk is pushed upon naive people by the diet industry which makes a fortune off of people who keep coming back because diets like this do not work. You really want to lose weight, have a flat tummy, firmer butt, etc? Don't consume transitive fats, ever. Don't consume refined sugar, ever. Keep saturated fats to a minimum. Only eat when hungry. Give up fast food, soda, and starbucks (or order drinks nonfat without the whip and sweetners). Exercise regularly. Don't exceed the recommended caloric intake based on your height, sex, and lifestyle. This isn't a simple, quick fix answer but it's the only effective way to keep slim, period.

Those things are very high in carbohydrate, fat, and salt..... but with very little anything else. I've never heard of anyone losing weight eating them.
