More and more we are seeing people paint their ceiling the lightest shade of their wall color. We highly recommend it.
My sister just painted her entire interior and every ceiling was painted this way. The house is BEAUTIFUL and she gets compliments from everyone who enters.

It will make the room alot darker, especially if using a ceiling light. You could accent a bit with white as trim, etc. to brighten things if you did paint the ceiling lilac. Or paint the ceiling the other accent color you use.

I have a very light purple/lilac/lavendar bathroom and tinted the ceiling paint an even lighter shade. So, if I painted my walls the third shade down on a color chip, I painted the ceiling the first shadeon the chip.

Still, a lot of people leave their ceilings white!! Some contrast with the lilac would look nice. Or perhaps, you should simply add a few flowers here & there.

alot of the sites are saying to paint the ceiling either the same color as the walls, or a shade lighter. Because it gives you an uninterrupted line & makes the ceiling seem higher. I personally like mine white. I like the contrast, it makes the room seem neater.

You can paint the ceiling, but personally I think if you leave the ceiling and trim white it makes the color "pop" more!

More and more people are painting their ceilings. There is less of a contrast, and can also be more calming. It depends on your lighting though. If you like a darker bedroom, go for it.

You should leave it white!! white looks really good w/ purple. Also, I would suggest painting the molding around the windows, the closets & the doors white also to complement it. Thats how i had my room for a while and i loved it.
