I was thinking about not having any bridesmaids or groomsmen at my wedding. I was just wondering what their responsibilities are. I know they're suppose to be in charge of the bachelor and bachelorette parties, but I don't want one. What else are they in charge of?

To see what bridesmaids/groomsmen do, I would try the Knot. www.theknot.com
As far as not having any, they don't really "serve a purpose", as far as the ceremony goes. Other than to hand off rings, hold your bouquet, etc. So it would be ok not to have any. Really the point of having then is so that they can share your day with you. Not neccessarily have "day of" responsibilities. But if you're not going to have a coordinator, I would suggest at least having a maid/matron of honor, to help you with the last minute details.

It relies upon on what united states of america you reside in US, bridesmaid and groomsmen paid their very own way maximum groomsmen does not positioned on clothing, maximum will positioned on tuxes or suits If a bride prefer to pay, they might whilst i replaced into in college i replaced into in some kinfolk weddings, my dad paid for the gown, when you consider that I had no money in the united kingdom, the bride paid for the bridesmaid clothing

Well bridemaids and groomsmen are supposed to help the bride and groom get the BIG DAY ready....the bridemaids are supposed to help the bride have a day of relaxation before the wedding go to the spa manicure pedicure and all that good stuff the grooomsmen are supposed to help the groom through his (like every other guys) time to be scared before the wedding They are there to help through the good and the bad but as always its up to the bride and groom

Just being supportive on the day of the wedding. They are not required to hold parties or be servants or anything else.

bridesmaids need to look fat and wear ugly purple and orange dresses, so the bride looks even more beautiful by comparison.

groomsmen need to not make jokes, fall down, or say inappropriate things during the ceremony, so that they dont get the groom in trouble. (its a scientific fact that when you put men in large groups, the IQ of each man is divided by the number of men total.)

thats about it, but i think the man also help people know what side to sit on.

their main job is keeping you sane leading up to the wedding... and be a buffer between you and the people who make you crazy... you do not have to have them, but you can't ask non-existent people to help you leading up to the wedding... "hang that streamer please"... "oh crud, i forgot to pick up my in-laws to be at the airport"... "what do i do, the caterer canceled!"...
