Great question. This is how I see it panning out...

This fight comes with a lot of risk for Floyd, as he could potentially be knocked out. Although he probably won't admit it, Floyd has to be wary of Oscar's punching power, and will be training to counteract and nullify that.

I, however, don't think Floyd will be knocked out.

Floyd has the superior speed, and I think he will use it to run from Oscar. Floyd has said in press conferences that he will not run from Oscar, but then again, he said he would knock out Baldomir in 5 rounds.

Also, De La Hoya has proved everything he has to in boxing. Mayweather has yet to, on account that he hasn't been severely tested yet. Up to this point, he's just been too good for everyone.

Not many people expect Floyd to win, but I think Floyd will be wary/ scared of De La Hoya's power, and will show. Floyd will box from a distance, and pot shot and counter punch his way to a split decision win over De La Hoya.

I am a de la Hoya fan, but i think it's a bad match-up for Oscar because of Mayweather's speed and defensive abilities and Oscar's age. The real problem for Oscar though is that Mayweather will run from him and try to win on points instead of truly fighting him. I know the object is to get a "w" but it's sad that someone who is called by many the best pound-for-pound fighter doesn't make the other guy pay when he misses. If it goes the distance, look for Mayweather to win.

Blogbaba has to agree with Michael and Keith, Oscar needs to land something solid quickly to slow Floyd. Mosley's speed gave Oscar trouble, and Floyd is faster than Shane. It is going to be a long night for Oscar if he cannot hurt Floyd early. Blogbaba picked Floyd by decision over Oscar long ago, and still stand by the pick.

Oscar will win by decision. If you compare the resumes of the two then it is crystal clear who has fought the better opposition. Oscar's resume is second to none, who has Floyd fought?. Based on experience, size, and the fact that he just doesn't like Floyd, Oscar will win by split decision, and you can take that to the bank. I hope Floyd keeps getting under Oscar's skin, it will only make it worse for him.

I would want De La Hoya to win but in my opinion he's just not as good as he used to be. I think Mayweather will take this one he's incredibly fast

The answerer before me Michael has it pretty dead on. DeLaHoya has a chance if he can tag Mayweather some each round slowing him down for later in the fight. If Mayweather slows he could be in for trouble.
