I just had a filling done exactly a month ago on the side of my tooth in the back. And i woke up yesterday and and it hurts like crazy, the exact same spot. When I drink water it hurts, or air or anything sweet, etc...It was fine for a month. I am in college far from home and the dentist wont be in till monday. Whats wrong with my tooth!

Also, the tooth that hurts the gum located on that tooth also hurts (this might be the problem, I dont know...)

maybe the filling has hit a nerve, if you cannot get dental treatment for a few days, then, I know this will be ghastly at first, but it does work, press a clove of raw garlic on it, this will numb the nerve until you are able to get the right treatment!
Repeat throughout the weekend!
Horrid I know, but it is better than the toothache!

Could be a different tooth, could be your gum tissue. If the dentist did not say it was deep, it may have even fallen out. It may be the tooth in front of it- see a dentist where you are. Your insurance will cover an emergency exam- call home and find out the policy number , etc. Call a dentists and have him check it. You may need anitbiotics, you may have something jammed down in gum. Teeth are funny, the little things can set them off. If the tooth is dying, they can fix that too with a root canal. Anything is better than hurting. For the weekend, if you have a campus health clinic, you can see the medical doctor, tell him you are in pain , and he can give you something until Monday. Check the phone book for dentists open on the weekend or nights. Western general offices are usually open on Saturday mornings.

See the dentist on Moday, they will be able to fix it at no charge, if the problem persist, then you may see a different dentist for a second opinion untill you find a very good dentist.

A filling can cause tooth sensitivity for quite awhile. If it gets worse, you can see the dentist monday.
