I really need to know what men think. I am a single mom, who invests everything into my 16, 13, and 11 year old boys. I am curious how to approach men, or reading signals, or what to expect. I am really interested in someone who is possibly in his late 20's, but the mom in me talks me out of engaging. What do men want?

First of all, stop investing everything into your boys. Make the 16 year old start taking the other boys to practice etc. I'm not saying to quit on them but you don't need to dote on them anymore.
Next, do some things that make you feel good. Hair, nails, day at the spa, whatever. Do you have girlfriends? I hope you do, every woman should. Are you in good shape? Exercise will make you look good and feel good. Sexy comes with confidence with women the same as it does with men.
Don't worry about approaching men. They will come to you. If a guy is talking to you, he is probably interested. That is the only signal you need. Take up a social hobby like biking where men outnumber woman. If you are athletic join a co-ed team. There are a lot of guys and never enough women to make the team.

If you invest that much time into you're sons you might want to go to find men who are interested in sports. I'm sure that your kids are interested in at least football or baseball. Find a man willing to make time for you and your kids. If you have an ESPN Zone nearby go there. If you have a close "girlfriend" ask her about some men she knows and get hooked up or go to a sporting event that might interest you with her and scout. If you invest that much in you're kids find a man willing to take time for you and the kids.

Go to a single parent support online forum. I think you will get more answers there based on experience. Plus, you may even hook up with a single dad, who knows? (someone who understands your situation better)
Bringing the wrong man into your life and the lives of your children can have disastrous results. Here is my advise--- it takes a mature man to know what he really wants in life, and being up to the challenge of being involved with a woman who has children takes a very down to earth, evolved, grown up man. Some men will get involved with a woman who has children, and not even consider how he is impacting the lives of several individuals...not just the woman.
So you want to steer clear of the lost souls, and you definitely want to get to know a man and see how he treats family and friends--over an extended period of time- BEFORE you bring him around your children. I think it also helps to gravitate toward a man who is a single parent. You will have much more in common, and will have a mutual understanding of each other right off the bat. Just make sure he doesn't have a psychotic ex wife ~ she will be sure to make both of your lives miserable.

Wait till your kids are grown.Everyone will be happy all the way around.If you do date tho, watch the fellah's life from afar for about 6 months first before ever going out with him.If he is a guy who has a drug and or alcohol problem itll show up, or if he is in trouble legally, wont work and pay his bills etc.You can know a person very well just by sitting back and watching.

It all depends on the guy. I think a guy in his late 20s (I'm 38) would be wowed by you being assertive, in control, and confident. This would show up in you asking him out, and you being direct with what you want and what you are expecting out of them dating. The expectations part could wait for a couple dates, though. Because you with three kids, that is a hard life (or was - teenage boys start to operate on cruise control), and that is what he expects: for you to be a frazled mess, desperate for a savior. Well, he will be really surprised to see that *you* are in control, not frzzled, and not *needing* to be with him. You *choose* to spend time with him, and will easily make arrangements for that to happen. *that* will wow him. Good luck! Buy condoms...

Does it matter what MEN want, if it is not what YOU want also? Just be yourself....
Having 3 children already, obviously makes some men not interested in you. You can not change that.... BUT, there are plenty of people out there who also have kids, or don't mind at all that you have kids. They are there. Be yourself, get out there, and find them.

With children that age you might find it hard to find a guy in his 20's that is mature enough to handle you having 3 young men already...I think you need to keep an open mind...and accept what you need in your life, not necessarily what you want...good luck.
