The girl I like is Chinese, from China and her mother seems very strict... We we're supposed to go to the mall together tommorow, but now her mother is saying that she'd rather have her stay with her, and this isn't the first time this has happened... I completley understand that alot of parents are "old fashoned" but if I start going out with this girl, do you think her mother will lighten up a bit or stay the same? Thanks.

If you and your crush develop a serious relationship, her mother will have to at least get used to you, which should make her lighten up at least a smidge, eventually. Key word is eventually. It might take a while- probably will. So it comes down to how much you like your crush.

Unless, you are a good chinese boy you need to pick another girl to like. Traditional chinese families are not going to allow their daughter's todate american boys. her mother is the dominant force in her life and she will not dare to disobey. I dont think her mom will lighten up. I saymove on - sorry -k-

Chinese culture is a lot different than American culture. You should try to be around the mother more, and be a goodie goodie, to show her that you're responsible and mainly respectable. To win the heart of the mother is the first and foremost.

most likely the mom is not going to change so your going to have to try your best to get around if, if you really like this girl do what everyone else would do..suck up to the mom BIG TIME but don't let her know that shes getting to you ;) good luck

You need to get to know her mom and maybe she will loosen up. Hang out at her house more so her mom gets a chance to know you better. It may be that she just doesn't know you and she doesn't want her daughter to be in harms way.

she might lessen up but i would try talking to the girl and ask her what is up with her mom and see how you can make it easier for her mom to let her go and grow up. her mom probaly dosent want to lose her and not be able to protect her.

I think it all depends on your age and her daughter's age. If you are both teenagers...just write it off. It won't happen.
