A soul exist in a spirit plane until it incarnates in the physical plane and it returns to the spirit plane when it is finished with the lessons it set out to learn in any given incarnation. Some people call the spirit plane heaven, so I go with your first statement.

We only exist when we are conceived, both physical body and spirit, not before. God knew us before we existed because He is all knowing of the past, present and future. God is our creator, even in the beginning of our life at conception, after all He created us in the womb and breathed life into us. He created Adam from the dust and breathed life into Adam - same thing, except Adam being first had no womb to grow in. Adam's soul was not in heaven first. I believe the Bible to be literal and Truth. You can get many opinions on this which = guesses if not from the Word of God.

I personally believe that there are not "extra" souls waiting in heaven. God does not have a jar of them on a table waiting for the next conception. When He breathes life into us He gives us not only breath, intelligence, imagination, personality but also the most important piece to the biological puzzle; Our souls.

Now that's a good question. It is my understanding, as a Christian, that the soul comes into being at the moment of conception, and exists forever, in some state, from then on.

According to the manuscripts, to be absent from this flesh is to be present with the Lord; I realize its not normally taught, but the Texts are quite clear that there was an earth age before this one, and there will be the final earth age after this one ends.
We were all created eons ago, and we all were living in the last earth age, until the war started when satan wanted to take over the position of Christ. You were with God before you were conceived, and you will instantly go back to Him when you die; you will not be in some hole in the ground - only the flesh goes there. You return to your spiritual body. When you read in Genesis, you are not reading of the first creation of man; what you are reading is the creation of the FLESH for each soul to reside in for this age. This is what the Word of God states.

Soul is pure spirit. It does not depend upon matter for existence.
Spirit has understanding and free will and comes from God.

I think it was in Heaven before being conceived. Obviously, I have no proof of this, just a feeling.
