i dont understand how people can say that global warming does not exist, or is of a natural cause. how blind or stupid do you have to be to not believe in global warming ? and it is not a political tactic since all of the countries in europe believe in it (almost all of the countries in the world believe in global warming). we are killing our planet, our only home, how dare people say that global warming does not exist? the proofs are right in from of their nose ! would it kill them to spare some money in order to save our planet ? how can some people be so selfish !! ?

for the people who wanted facts : In February 2004, consultants to the Pentagon released a report laying out the possible impacts of abrupt climate change on national security. In a worst-case scenario, the study concluded, global warming could make large areas of the world uninhabitable and cause massive food and water shortages, sparking widespread migrations and war.

While this prospect remains highly speculative, many of global warming's effects are already being observed -- and felt. And the idea that such extreme change is possible underscores the urgent need to start cutting global warming pollution.

What country is the largest source of global warming pollution?
The United States. Though Americans make up just 4 percent of the world's population, we produce 25 percent of the carbon dioxide pollution from fossil-fuel burning -- by far the largest share of any country. In fact, the United States emits more carbon dioxide than China, India and Japan, combined.

Those on the right who question global warming are just following the orders of their "leaders": the right-wing noise machine (Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, O'Reilly and that ilk) and Republican State Television (Fox "News").

Ignoring the science because it is politically inconvenient.

Just like the failed Bush administration.

Please do some research.

Man is responsible for 3.4% of carbon dioxide emitted to the atmosphere annually; the rest of it is all natural.

After you take out what natural causes other then CO2. You’ll find that man if responsable for at best 2.5% of the total greenhouse effect. Now if you take the WORST case forecasted so far, you’re looking a 10 degree increase, man would be responsible to a grand total of .25 of a degree and we can’t even measure that small of a change! And that estimate is so far out there the even the IPCC won’t touch it.

Now that said Yes I can PROVE global warming is happening, logically and with science, but the question is how much of the global warming is caused by man, and the research so far says not much.

Yes, the planet is certainly warming at a faster pace than it has throughout our knowledge of human history. However, let's not take it too far and say that it's "killing" the planet. All evidence suggests that the planet has gone through multiple phases of warming and cooling, and life tends to adapt as the changes occur.

That being said, will species go extinct? Of course. That's nothing new to our planet. But will it be the end of all life on Earth as we know it? Very highly doubtful. Life is extremely resilient, and has endured far worse disasters than a gradual heat trend.

I dare.....and I'm not selfish, blind or stupid. Sometimes you have to look at the other side of the debate. I won't try to convince you, but take some time to review the link.

Remember way back in the 1970's there was a serious debate about the possibility of a mini ice age.

Global warming may or may not exist, but it's really nothing but a distraction from getting anything done. I think both sides would like to see the U.S. put more into renewable energy sources, if only this debate didn't exist maybe they'd actually come together and do it instead of arguing like a bunch of kids..

Wow, what evidence do you have? Is the best you can offer "it's in front of their nose?" Is it possible that the earth goes through cycles of cooling and warming? There is evidence that it was warmer in decades previously. And it is a given fact that the Antartic Circle is currently cooler than ever before. Not so for the Artic Circle. Does this not point to cycles? It is the global warming fanatics that are using this to their political gain, not vice versa.

Just because a lot of people believe something does not make it so. 200 years ago most people believed the earth was flat. Consensus is not fact. So base your argument on facts not what 'everyone' believes

These are the same people that are Republicans, Democrats, Christians or Muslims because their parents were, they do and believe what they are told, there is no rational thought process.

If you think about it, it makes sense for somebody that believes in supernatural creatures to not believe in science. They suffer from willful ignorance because it is easy, it takes an effort to educate yourself and understand the finality of our lives and the environment in which we live. But, it only takes faith to believe that you will live forever and nothing will go wrong no matter what they do.

People tend to believe what they are told. No matter how blatantly obvious something is.. people will believe.

As P.T. barnum said “There's a sucker born every minute.”

If you tell somebody something enough.. some weak-willed individuals will start to believe it.
