The reason people that drink colas typically weigh more is because the carbon in the soda expands your stomach. It makes you think there is more room to eat, so people continue to eat while drinking cola, all the while you are making your stomach larger all the time.
Also, water can give you a better complexion and definitely is better for your teeth!

Aside from what has already been mentioned, you should consider that even diet sodas are higher in sodium, and that all sodas, teas, and coffee drinks are acidic in PH(low PH). If you can drink water that is alkaline in PH, and switch your diet to high PH foods, you will drop weight like crazy. If you don't know about this, you can check out the books by Robert O. Young, The PH Miracle, and The PH Miracle for Weight Loss. When you stop drinking soda and coffee, your blood pressure will also go down.
You may not get the full benefit of high PH liquidds from drinking juices, because many fruite juices are just as acidic in PH, and some are also high in sugar, as soda.
Learning as much as possible about what you put into your body is a good thing.

The refined sugar found in sodas ( and anything that has "high fructose corn syrup) causes tooth decay, obesity, it depletes the body of its potassium and magnesium, which are essential to its function.
Caffeine, if used over the long term can impair sleep, cause dependency, heart arrhythmias, peptic ulcers and esophagitis.
I still allow myself to drink one cup of coffee a day because I need my jolt, but I have given up ALL sweetened beverages and anything with sugar or high fructose corn sugar. I actually can't stand any thing sweetened now.
Keep up the good work. Your body will thank you.

when i stopped drinking soda i lost and kept off 30lbs. it really is great to give them up. i also don't eat stuff like mayonnaise and salad dressing but soda takes a big chunk of useless calories out. plus not drinking caffeine will make you not feel so fatigued.

You will lose weight, in the long run have MORE energy, since caffeine gives you a boost than makes you fein for more after it wears off. Also, you will be more hydrated and healthy since your drining water, and that also takes out a lot of toxins in your body. Over'all, you will be a lot more healthy now.

You might live to be 110. That is, of

by somebody driving while talking
on the cel phone and eating a
