im biracial and im 22 years old. within the past few years i have found myself becoming more emotionally uncontrolled. i just wondered if any one out there is going through the same thing or has been through it. what did u do to over come it? i do not want to seek "proffessional" help, but i will if necessary as it is not really in the budget right now.

I'm biracial (actually caucasian, african and native american, so triracial I guess) and have always suffered from emotional issues. It has nothing to do with my race, the only thing is that I didn't fit into any of the cliques when I was in school, because they were racially divided. It added to the loneliness andf isolation I felt. I'm 24 now, and most people think that I'm beautiful and exotic because of my looks. I have thick curly hair, slightly pale skin, full lips, a mole like Cindy Crawford's, and an hourglass figure. All my problems growing up were caused by emotional and mental problems because of a chemical imbalance, and the fact that I've gone trhough some very traumatic experiences. My brother is the same race as me ( obviously lol!), and he's happily married, healthy, and works for the FBI actually! Unfortunately there are some people out there that are recist and will try to discourage race mixing by saying mixed children are somehow infererior.

Anybody of any color can have emotinal disorders. If you feel that strongly about your situation, then you should go to a counseller. I know you said it's not in the budget but check with your job's insurance because mental health care might be covered.

Mental illness isn't a biracial issue. It is an issue that affects millions of people from different creeds. People from happy homes, people from unhappy homes, whites, African Americans, Asians, all suffer from mental illnesses. I, personally, suffer from mental illnesses, and I'm not biracial or anything. Anyone can develop them.

Emotional disorders do not discriminate. They do not know the difference between races. It would be best for you to get some help.

I do not think there is any direct connection between one's ethnicity and one's emotional health. Try exploring other possibilities.
