Running track has helped mould me into the person I am today by teaching me to stay consitant and keep working hard. No matter how tired you feel or how much something hurts, you have to fight through it and get better. This is the best lesson to take with you into life. I am also addicted to the "runners high" that you get after a great running work out. Its better than any drug I have ever tried.

Running track has changed my life in the best way possible. I have made so many friends that have come and gone. People started really noticing me when I was in 8th grade. I had gone to the Championship for middle school every year, but this year I was seeded in the top 5 for both of my events. I was running the 800 and the 4x400. Now, in the 800 a good middle school time is like 2:55 or higher. I got a new Championship record and was 1st place with a 2:41. Everyone was amazed. Then in the 4x400 I was the last leg and we also get 1st place. My split time was a 1:05 which was also very good for a middle school runner.
Now I am in high school and I have made it to the state meet every season [for indoor and outdoor]. But just learning new ways the help myself get fasters makes it a lot more fun during the track meet. Now I run 100, 200, 400, 800, 4x100, 4x200, and the 4x400. Not all in the meet but putting my indoor races with my outdoor races.

I started to run to lose weight. I couldnt run in every place. I had to run a a nice place with a nice view so I chose to run by the bay. I realized that after running my stress went away and that my gastritis problems were not as bad as before. I can't run with music because is very distracting. I run and think and challenge myself. Now i run in a different place with no nice view but since I see many people working out and playing sports, it makes me feel part of the "team". it makes my life better because i feel better, I'm losing weight and I look better and I'm not as moody as before :)

In my life i had some pretty tough times, since i am a high school student, my life get's pretty stressful. running has helped me with this stress for about 4 years now. i am better then ever and i wish i discovered running a long time ago. my sister is 5th in the nation for jr, college and my mom was a the only female runner in her cross country team in highschool. for years i have been pushed to run run run and follow in thier footsteps. i always thought to myself "damn why would anyone want to run? i mean it feels like you're ounishing yoursef!" but i have come to realize that it relaxes your body and it helps reduce stress. your confidence level increases dramatically and your goals become achieved. fir instance... when i was depresesd about my breakup with my ex, i went and ran a 5k in the best time that i ever had. that's because i took my anger out on the road and not other ppl. i had my music on, got myself mad, and didn't let anyone pass me. running can set you free. it helps your mind body and soul. running isn't what i call relaxng but it sure is helping me through tough times.

I used to be a lazy, sleazy teen that did little to no excercise. This year, I joined the track team and actually had to put effort out. I was pushed and became mentally and physically tougher. My main achievement is my growing rank as one of the fastest short distance runners. Within 1 year, I learned a lot about responsibility and self-reliance.

runnnig has had a major impact in my life. Or at least for now. When i was younger, like in 6th grade i wan't really classified as a good runner or athlete. But i started to excel at it in middle school and here i am in high school on the cross country team and track team and i am one of the good ppl as ppl keep telling me. So, i earned myself a new reputation and also grew a lot healthier and i increased my endurance.I also achieved a lot of goals which is good in life becasue it has pushed me and all.

Running helped me quit smoking. I was in the Air Force in Turkey at the time, and it was very tough. Luckily I had a friend who ran w/ me every day. Soon I was in shape and smoke free!
