my dad has stress at work and problems at home he turns to the side with a "youre fine, go take a nap" or "youre fine, theres nothing wrong" and my mom is easier to talk to, but we were at the doctors about a week ago because i was short of breath (congestion/infection thing) and i was talking to the doctor, and she said if you dont feel better, it could be anxiety, we could refer you to someone, but my mom is really busy and we just dont have time to do anything besides sports and its taking over our lives and no one seems to even be enjoying them anymore, thats besides the point, but anyway, i just want some advice, any would help, on relaxing, what it is, and if u wanna talk, ill be up to like 1 r 2 eastern

Don't worry about school, and reduce sport to an easily manageable level, and one that you enjoy. The important thing is to get yourself better. Make a doctor's appointment now; tell your mum you're going to see someone about your problems, so please forget about the other things for a while, until you're better. Learn and use the breathing method in http://deeplyrelax.com Practice the method in http://www.selfhelpmagazine.com Meditation room; try it out; mantra meditation; shoose to repeat: "easy" in your mind. You can also do this when experiencing panic or anxiety. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder may require medication and/or therapy. See http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk & http://www.nimh.nih.gov/healthinformation.cfm (healthinformation.cfm) When you do improve, start being of some help; ask if there is something you could do, and tell your other family members that you know you have been unwell, but you are trying to get better, now.

Hi, I hope you can get through this. It sounds like you might be having some signs of anxiety & depression. First of all, (and I'm not accusing) if you are doing any kind of drugs or drinking, STOP. That can contribute to some of the feelings you describe. But it's certainly not the only thing. Also, if you've had any relationship problems, that could contribute to the feeling. And being a teen is difficult without either of the things I just mentioned. But whatever the cause, once things start going bad, it can create a negative cycle that is hard to break free from. Seeing a doctor might help, so don't rule that out.
But if that's not an option, try some simple things. Focus on ONE thing to do that will be good. If you're behind in several classes, focus on one. Try to do your assignments, get caught up, create some positive feedback. That might help you break the cycle.
And if you have a counselor in your school, I suggest talking to them. Just getting things off your chest might help. And they might be able to connect you with a person who can help you, or even a group to just vent your concerns. (My son is almost 14, and he participates in a group at school, and he enjoys it. Doesn't solve all the problems, but it helps.)
Whatever you decide, you don't have to be alone. There are plenty of people who are willing to help you, even if your parents don't seem like they can.

If you don't go to a doctor, you are going to have a hard time figuring out what is going on. It could be hormones, food allergies, depression, anxiety, stress, etc. Going now, while it is in the beginning stages, is way better than waiting until it is out of control! A trip to the doctor now is much easier for parents to understand than a trip to the hospital after a suicide attempt (to be excessive). If you have a counselor at school that you can talk to, they should be able to help you as well. There are dietary and relaxation techniques that you can try, but those only help if you know what you are trying to work on. This isn't something to take on yourself and with others on the internet. You need support from others.

You may be an agoraphobic and that can explain your anxiety and feelings of panic before you have to go to work. You could have a panic disorder also. I would suggest that you see a psychiatist to get a firm diagnosis for your feelings. With the psychiatrist's help as well as help from a psychologist, you can get better. If you don't want to see a psychiatrist, at least tell your PCP how you are feeling. .

did your parents do drugs? you might be OCD but you are young and don't get focused on that. My teen years were a nightmare and i was confused and sometimes suicidal but you know what? i'm 35 now and yeah, i still have the OCD but i live with it. i walk regularly, i talk to myself and if i feel out of control, i talk to someone else about it. you have a school counselor don't you? don't ever give up reaching out because even if 100 people don't understand you, it might be that 101 person that does. life is beautiful if you want it to be...........i hope you see that soon. and hey, you have no energy? who does? life isn't easy and if someone told you it was...they lied. there are people out there who make the best of horrible situations so this proves it can be done. don't give up, look for solutions. and not in a pill either.

"OCD is an anxiety disorder. It is listed by the World Health Organization as one of the top ten most disabling illnesses in terms of lost income and diminished quality of life"
extract from Wikipedia
Find a good and comprehensive article on the net on OCD and print it out and give it to your mum and tell her that you think this is what is wrong with you. Tell her you need professional help to deal with it.
Persist. Keep asking for your mum to make an appointment. If she won't, go to a school counsellor with the article and tell them the same thing. Keep asking for someone to make an appointment for you. Stand firm.
You have done a lot a research already and you know what is going on inside. Insist on getting help from your parents. If no-one will help, ask your local doctor's clinic what you need to do to get a referral for advice and help with OCD.

I understand you on the school thing. I hated it to because I couldn't take what I wanted. When were you last doing well in school? Once you find that time, look for a word, symbol or subject that you didn't understand fully. This is the cause for you not caring anymore. Look up those words symbols etc. Whatever it is, get it defined and make sure you understand it and I guarantee youll be excited about school again and everything else will align for you.

damn gurl you sound like me when i was 14 ha ha. maybe its puberty, but i was diagnosed with depression a little over a year ago, and i really wish i would have gotten help for it sooner, becuase i was absolutly miserable when i was 14. my mom also thought i was on drugs, but i became reclusive and started staying in my room and not caring about anything and i had all those classic signs of depression. we even went to the doctor but they didnt do anything at that time, i dont know why, i was in tears in the freaking check up room. it was seriously pathetic yet still nothing was done untill later on.anyway, my point is, you need to talk to your mother, let her know that you are not on drugs and that you think you may be suffering from depression. let her know you are unhappy, and should see someone who can help treat depression becuase you dont deserve to live like that sweetheart. teens have enough to worry about as it is, depression is just a *****. lol but you have got to talk to your mom, im sure she'll understand and know what to do

it is hard to get over something like this without seeing a doctor and getting some medicine to take when you feel this way. It's easy for someone to say theres nothing to worry about and get over it, but your brain doesnt work that way.
unless you have gone through it yourself it is hard for other people to understand how you are feeling.

Then talk to your school counselor. If there really IS a problem that you need professional assistance with, she can help your parents to understand how important it is that you get this help. And talk to someone soon, before it becomes harder to control.
