Ok are you the slightly older male or female cousin? Is she jealous of you because you are really praised at her house? I think you should try to sit down with her when your Mom's out of the room but is still within earshot. Tell your Mom to stick around but not let your cousin know she is listening then ask your cousin why she always hits you? Is she angry with you for some reason? Ask her what she is feeling...At the age of 5 she may not know how to express her feelings verbally so you may have to help her figure out the words for what she is feeling when she hits. At least if you can get her talking about it you can try to correct the problem and your Mom will also know what's been going on and try to step in as well.

When she hits you again, ask her why she does it since it hurts a lot. If she continues, tell her you have no option but to talk to your mother about what's going on and this might keep her from spending the night with them in the future. If she does it again, its "mom time".
Talk to your mom about what she's doing when no ones watching. Ask her to help you so you can get some sleep.

Remember that you are the older cousin, tell your cousin " I do NOT like being hit, and I will Not allow you to disrespect me like this any longer. If you continue to disrespect me than you will have consequences for your actions. You will have to stand in time out for 5 minutes if you hit me again." The if your cousin hits you again than put them in time out for 5 minutes. And if they do it again than pout them in time out again. Be consistent with it and they will get it soon. Also talk to your parents and your cousins parents about it too. Let them know that you don't like to be disrespected by your younger cousin.

I don't know why, but your cousin is out of control when she isn't being watched over. Talk to her mom about what is going on.
When she does turn on you, grab her fists and tell her to stop. LOUDLY. Tell her she's too old for this and hurting people is wrong.

She's just being a typical 5yo. Tell her you're going to call Santa & tell him what she's doing and actually call somebody & pretend to be talking to him. It worked with my cousin when she was 6yo.

How old are you?
Sounds like she just wants your attention but without knowing your age I can't tell you much.
