I noticed that I eat healthily when there are healthy options, which is any time that's not at home (food at my home = fatty food). I will soon go away to college, and am planning to stay on the healthy track, but the only healthy things of which I know and which I try to incorporate into my diet are salad-leaves salads, oranges, and yogurts. Those things are usually "in-between" or "additionals" to my main course meals, but what are some real meal options for healthy dieting? My main course meals usually consist of meat and an additional thing, such as rice, potatoes, or pasta, and I also really like soup.
So, what are some components of a main course meal that are healthy? I would really rather eat vegetables that are raw instead of cooked, but am open to suggestions on those as well.

I don't really cook a lot, but I've been using my juice extractor and blender to make some very nutritious meals...I drink the juice of broccoli, plums, celery, lettuce, kales, spinach and mix them witth fruit juice and drink. With fruit juice you can't even taste the vegetables and my health has improved so much that I don't even get colds or allergies any more

I recommend it if you are looking for a way to get pure inexpensive effective nutrition in a jiffy..

Other than that, use free range chicken when cooking, avoid butter, use olive oil, eat only brown rice, salad is good, go light on dressing. homemade soups are good, go light on meats and refined pastas.

Stay away from red meat and pork, They're fat bombs and clog your arteries. And guys, red meat makes you big in places you don't want to be and small in places you don't want to be.

Ensure that you have a balanced meal and in very small proportions. I am curently in college and my first year was a disaster becauase i didn't make good decisions concerning the type of food I ate. However, now i am better able to manage my intake and make healthy choices.

For example...have your proteins, carbs and very minimal fat. Remember not to overeat...that's the key to keeping your current weight.
Meats, rice, yogurt, fruits, oats, and stuff you like.

Hope that helps.
