I need to make an exact backup copy of a disk that is fully functional. I have tried many applications that claim to do this, however, getting around the disk protection has been an issue. I know the disk uses a version of SafeDisk.

What do I do?

Well if those don't work, nonewill. If you are trying to make an exact copy of, for example, a windows restore disk, it won't work...

I support a number of machines with Credant installed on them and we have the same issue. You will need to uninstall SafeDisk first. This should make the application unlock/unencrypt all of the files. From that point you can create your image using Ghost or some other similar product. After you restore the image you can then reinstall the SafeDisk.

You will need the key to remove SafeDisk so that all files are unencrypted. If you don't know the key I don't see how your going to make an image of it. If you have a disk failure, your going to be out of luck as well.
