I'm not sure what brand of food you are using, but you should make sure that the food you feed your cat has no fillers and as little carbohydrates as you can find (if you want the names of some REALLY good all natural/holistic foods let me know). The best thing you can feed your cat is wet food because it is closer to there natural diet. Cats are naturally carnivorous so the more meat and less carbos the food has the better. So to answer your question, I would look most to what is in the food rather than if it is the "normal" brand or not. OH MORE WET FOOD, she will lose more weight on wet food because it is 1/4 water, and this way your cat is getting the water it needs without having the drink it, which cats are not designed to do. There bodies are designed to get water from food and not a water source because they are desert animals. ok so I just told you WAY more than you wanted, hope it was helpful!

You are using a pretty good dry food (Chicken Soup), maybe one with a little more grain than I like for my cats. If the quality of the wet food you are using is as good then it's good that she have that.
You might want to go to: www.littlebigcat.com and read Dr. Jean Hovfe's articles titled "Why Cat Need Canned Food" and "Selecting a Good Commercial Pet Food" to reinforce your good choice of having some wet food in her diet.

I would talk to your vet. Cats can have reactions to changes in food, and changing from one type to another can cause diarrhea. This is because the enzymes in the intestine that break down the food adjust to what the cat eats. When the food changes, the enzymes can't break down the food as well for a period of time.

talk to your vet. but you may try to find an indoor cat formula that's not for over weight or under weight cats. make sure the brand you use is nutritionally balanced, though.

Why would you want to do that when your kitty gained weight on the normal formula. Keep her on what you are presently feeding, maybe just add a tad more to see if she maintains her weight - not gaining and not losing either.

Consulting your vet is the best advice. You can also go to purina.com and they will give you a break down of all of there food brands and they might help you make a good choice.

As long as she is a healthy weight you shouldn't have to change her diet or increase how much you feed her. Your vet can tell you how to determine if your cat is too thin.

if you read the label on the wet can food you will see that it is 75% moisture and has very little nutritional value to it (unless you feed a high quality canned food) I would suggest that you feed your cat adult cat food and feed her twice a day.
