There is an artifical vanilla extract (as well as a vanilla bean paste) and a vanilla butternut flavor offered by LorAnn Oils.

There are plenty of immitation vanilla extracts with little or no alcohol on the market. Real vanilla extract requires alcohol to "extract" the flavor from the vanilla bean.

yeah - look up vanilla glycerite (which is made with glycerine instead of booze) and/or vanilla powder...
I wish I could remember the name, but there is a brand with a beige label and brown or green print (depending on liquid or powder) from madagascar that is very good. Its organic, so that might make it easier to find on line. (they also have it at Whole Foods)
Hey - I found the link.....

and then there is vanilla sucre - its something the french do...
put a 2 cups of sugar in a container (like a quart sandwhich bag) and add a cut up vanilla bean. Shake it every once in a while. The sugar will take on the vanilla flavor (so you can use it in coffee, or baking), and you can reuse the bean until it losses flavor.

It seems that imitation vanilla is the only alcohol free kind. Even the organic vanilla contains some alcohol. Good luck in your search.

Use the whole bean. You get it in the spice section or baking section. Slice it in half and scrape out the inside with the tip of a knife. Then use it in whatever you need. Or, use vanilla powder. Its in health ffod stores.

there is very little alcohol and it evaporates during cooking only leaving the flavour.
