I am on medication to boost my serotonin levels. Is there a good way to modify the chemical receptors so I don't need to use the medication?

In medicine, Prozac, Zoloft and Luvox increase serotonin absorption in the synaptic cleft. Cognitive- behavioral therapy has been shown to be effective. Prozac and other chemicals in this family, is an SSRI, it does not increase serotonin levels, it shuts down the re-uptake pump in the sending terminal button.
St. John's Wort, Kava, Ginkgo, 5-HTP and others have been known to be somewhat effective.

Some researchers suggest that people with depression are commonly diagnosed with low levels of zinc, magnesium, B vitamins, essential fatty acids, and amino acids.
