Popcorn is actually a very good source of fiber. You can buy popcorn from all the manufacturers like Pop secret or Orville Redenbacher that is 94% fat free - those are the healthiest ones to buy. It sure is a whole lot healthier than Potato chips or French Fries. Another healthy snack is pretzels. Pretzels are also low in fat and high in fiber. Hope this helps :)

Its Poppy Corn! Corn that is fried in a skillet or baked in a covered pan is Poppy Corn! Add Lite Margerine, Fake Salt, too much salt, too much butter and you may as well eat a tub of salted butter or spiced grease.
The Poppy Corn is good, the Indians discovered it, or had an accident and made Poppy Corn!
I like Jiffy Pop Poppy Corn! It is baked but that is just adding heat to corn kernels.
Excersize, two or three balanced portioned meals, and some Poppy Corn! with less butter and salt and it is okee dokee.
Junky Foods is the stuff that have chemicals injected into them and then have a shelf life of three years.

Popcorn itself is not a junkfood. It's just popped corn kernals. However, what's put 'on' it is junk food. *massive amounts of butter and chemicals etc), So maybe try popping original healthy popcorn and keeping butter to a minimum and only eat that when you're hungry to avoid boredom or, "just because it's there" eating infront of a comp or TV
Congrats on the healthy lifestyle change ^_^

Depends on how you eat it. Full of butter at the theatre? Horrible for you. Butter flavored in the microwave? Still not that great for you. Your best bet is to find healthy popcorn- still microwaved but with a low serving of fat. The best possible way to eat it that makes it healthy is to air pop it. You need a machine to do this but air pop machines only cost $10. If you miss the butter flavor, most grocery stores carry "Parkay Spray Butter" (in a blue spray bottle in the butter section) that is SO good! I spray that on and add a little salt. Healthy AND good for you!

I am a health teacher for 6th grade so of couse I get questions like this a lot. The answer is no. But if you put a whole lot of butter and salt, then yes it can be. But really popcorn is healthy. Indians even used popcorn as a trail-mix because it was healthy and great taisting.

It actually depends on the type of pop corn. Look at nutrition labels and compare "mega super ultra buttery popcorn" to simple organic popcorn without butter. The undrenched-with-butter popcorn is actually healthy. The buttery popcorn is full of bad lipids (fats) & cholesterol

No, i heard it was a healthy snack. It's just air and corn. Well, if you have popcorn loaded with butter, then it's obviously not healthy.. =) You should eat popcorn with little butter, it's healthier.

Normal popcorn, like movie popcorn, is junkfood. Yes. However, it can be healthier if you buy the whole wheat popcorn and don't out butter and salt on it.

defiantly good for you when you pop it yourself or buy just plain pop corn. Try adding flavorings. they make seasoning for popcorn that do not include butter or salt and they make them delicious. Things like garlic butter, butter toffee, jalapeno. Don't give up on popcorn just give up on the butter on that popcorn.
