You dont. Sorry, bad idea. even if you're an amazing artist, You dont have the proper equipment/skills to be giving yourself a tattoo, and in the end you're going to end up with a crappy tattoo that you might like for a year or 2 (if you're lucky) but after that, it's going to sink in that its going to be on your body for the rest of your life, and soon you'll be thinking.....what the hell did I do to myself?!?!. Then the money you saved by not getting it done professionally, you'll be spending on tattoo removal.

My father decided when he was 12, that he was going to give himself a tattoo on his arm. His nickname is Dick, so he got the D tattooed on his arm before someone caught him and made him stop. He was 12 then, he's in his 60s now. He still has a D on his arm.

Well, there's several ways...

You can go to the store and buy those kiddie ones. All you do is cut out the design and then keep water on it until the image gets on to your skin.

You could take a marker and then draw on yourself

There's another way too BUT it's not safe, makes you prone to infection and ink poisoning and shouldn't be done. That and you're going to end up with one funky looking tattoo. One should go to a professional. You should probably wait until you're old enough to get a tattoo.

Tattoo shops have to get ok'd by a health inspector and their things have to be very clean and all the needles and tubes need to be sterilized. There is no way to tell if someone doing tatts at home is doing it in a clean enough place and with sterilized stuff so you should definately not get a homemade tattoo because most people who do have either crappy tattoos the rest of their life or get them covered up by a professional. You could also get bad infections or diseases if things aren't sterilized correctly.

I have never seen a homemade "tattoo" that looked good. Ever. My girlfriend in highschool did 2 herself, and they are awful! She regrets them everyday, but doesn't have the money to get them removed. Wait. When you are ready, go see a PROFFESSIONAL.

People say there is no risk? There is plenty. Infection, blood poisoning. If someone else does it theres risk of Hepititis or AIDS. It just is not worth it.

Not safe at all. Also, they tend to be really ugly and don't age well. Get it professionally done.
Any pigment introduced under the skin will remain, in part, and I stress IN PART, once the wound has healed.
So you have to poke or cut a hole, and then get ink or ash or what have you in there, and hope it does not scar so bad you can't see the pigment.

I don't know how you would make a tattoo yourself but I would highly recommend against it! Tattoos are never 100 percent safe. There is always a risk of infection. AIDs and HIV are rampant. If anyone is thinking of getting a tattoo, please reconsider.

Well, I made one, but eventually it disapeared. I took a needle and stuck it through the skin and then put permanant ink on the end of the needle that was through my skin then pulled it back through. It hurt and took a long time. But before you do something like that make sure you steralize the needle and steralize where ever you put the tattoo after you're done.

you use a needle and the ink from a ball point pen and you tap it into your skin enough times to form your design deep enough for it to just start bleeding. then you rub ink into by hand and wait for the excess ink to fade. it hurts it takes forever, and it's not safe at all. it's pretty much the same as a jail tatoo.
