That would depend upon how good the artist was in the first place, but in my opinion you should not need to get a "touch-up" for at least five years (depending upon the colours and type of artwork done, of course) I have some tattoos that are more than 5 yrs old and still look almost like new, so no need for a touch-up yet! The decision is finally up to you to decide.

Had mine 26 years still see color. Not as bright now. started to dull a little after about 15-18 years. Also depends on how well you're skin takes colors. And how much time the tattoo spends in the sun. The sun helps fade them.

I have a tattoo with purple and tourquise and it all faded out within 2 years I also have one with red and yellow and this one needs to be touched up after 6 years.

depends on the artist, the inks used, the skin type and the size/area, and the placement of the tattoo. so only you will know when to have it touched up (provided you can see it with out a mirror, or a good friend).

the color in a tattoo will eventually fade anyway, but keeping sun tan lotion on, will slow the process. I have blue ink in my tattoo and it still looks pretty good 7 years later.

I have no yellow, but I do have some purple that;s been there since 1985........ faded some, but never touched up.

I have never heard of a touch up men have had them done overseas and never touched them up.
