Hiya.My adorable gf & i have been together almost a year.I know i want to spend the rest of my life with her.I'd marry her tomorrow if she'd let me! We've not spoken much about the future tho she says it's me she wants to be with from now on.
I want to show her how much i love her by getting her a ring.I don't want to scare her off or anything.A friend at work suggested one of those Claddagh friendship rings. If you're taken you wear it with the heart facing towards you.I like the idea of her wearing my ring.
Girls what would you think of your bf giving you a friendship ring?Would you like it or be scared off? Thanks, Jackie.

Awww! That sounds so sweet, and no, I wouldn't be scared off. Go for it!

Maybe even try getting her a birthstone ring, as that's slightly more personal.

She would b scared if u called it friendship ring cause that can set her mind off thinking he wants to break up but stay friends. If u want u can buy the ring but call it differently like Passion ring or Love ring or sometinhg. But u know value of gifts doesnt show love to a womans heart. If i were u i would tell her personally what i felt and talk it through with her face to face conversations always work.

I think that they are a bit tacky, no offence meant in that at all. Why don't you buy her a bracelet or necklace or even just a simple ring with something special engraved on the inside. If you've been together for a year then she must have some pretty strong feelings for you.

Hey Jackie.........Think its a great idea. Back in the day we had promise rings. Obviously in this day and age if you have been together for a year, you mean something to each other. Good luck!

ehh maybe not a friendship ring b/c thats kinda like saying "lets be friends" not saying "i love you and want to be with you forever"
the idea of a ring is cute though but either pick out a different ring or change the name when you give it to her. good luck

Yes, I'd be scared.
Why not getting her a friendship necklace instead? lol
No, seriously, if she hasn't discussed anything about the future and that she might take it the wrong way if you give her a ring.

My boyfriend gave me one on our 1 year anniversary(a promise ring) and we just celebrated our 4 year anniversary on the 14th of march so obviously I didn't get scared, I absolutely loved it! Go for it!

Oh I think it's cute. Especially if you've been going out with her for a year! The birthstone idea is good. Or if you know of any stones that she particularly likes (color wise or w.e.)

if you get the sense she feels the same way -maybe subtly ask her or something!, then go for it- with the ring, so sweet, its a shame the blokes I meet pail in comparison to such beautifuly thought out ideas such as these.
