I have a cat, she is saimese, and a dwarf. Now the cats in the house think she's a baby, she's not shes 1 year old. Whenever my cats get pregnant, she feeds on them. Her grandmother got pregnant and she started feeding. Now she has the mother breast feeding her, when she's not even pregnant. It's getting out of hand. She already knows how to eat, and this is the 3rd time she has breast fed off of someone. Anyone give me suggestions on how to stop it?

she finds contentment and the problem is not to stop her from doing this its just the opposite. the cats that are allowing her to nurse needs to be broke from this, the only reason that kittens stops nursing is when the mother weens them. try spraying the cats with a squirt bottle when this behavior starts, with enough negative reinforcement this should stop.

A dwarf? Not familiar with that. Like a birth defect? If so, the cat's intellect could also be immature and unlikely to develop. If that's where the cat stopped growing and it isn't harming any of the others, it would be kind to simply let it go. Yes, it's odd, but you haven't said the other cats are complaining about the attention and they certainly aren't passing judgement. You have a retarded cat and the others are caring for it in a compassionate way, so I'd leave it at that if it isn't causing a problem.

Unless she's squishing kittens there is probably not much you can do until the older cats ween her. I've seen some cats suck on the end of their own tail for comfort, like a child sucks it's thumb. My sister has a cat that will go after your ear lobe if you aren't careful....

I think you should just keep an eye on her. Mum needs milk for her babies not the older cat. I think this is habit. This could also be due to her wanting more attention and feels nurtured whilst suckling. Perhaps you should try and set some special time aside for her, if you can..

First before you stop it you have to know why she is nursing...She is doing that because she is jealous and or she wants attention and mommy and grammy all to herself...So I suggest the next time she does that put a bowl of milk in front of her if that doesn't work then try telling her to stop if she does it again!!!

If this does not work try consulting a vet!!!

Probably just some family bonding. I know of someone whose cat had kittens. She kept one of the kittens, and even after mama was fixed and the kitten was quite grown he would nurse on her, and she let him. Eventually, though, he stopped. Maybe if you keep your arrested-development meezer away from mom and grandma she'll grow out of it.
