Cats do this to explore and be like a wild animal. One of my cats spends most of her time outside. The other one goes out and comes back in and NEVER goes out in the winter. Individual personalities.
He could be in heat and wants to go outside to find a mate my cats do that all the time when it's mating season!!!
Things you could do!!!
Walk your cat on a leash once a day. It doesn't take them long to learn, and then they will only meow at the door at leash time.
Screen in a porch area. Mine sit on the porch all day and watch the bird feeders.
I've seen cat tunnels for sale, which are just screened in tubes like a baby playpen that you put in the yard.
You could also build a slide-out box (like a window air conditioner) that sits in the widow and has screens on it.
Sunlight and fresh air are important to cat health, but running loose is not a good option. I hope that helps.

your cat, might want to go outside- the obvious one lol. Or maybe she misses you and wants to be petted. Sometimes they do this when wherever their litter box is located, the door is shut or something fell over top of it. Your cat might also be sick.. so if she/he continues with the "weird" behaviour you can always go take it to the vet for a health check. MEOW!
hope this helpped

He's probably just curious about what's behind that closed door.
My cat hates closed doors. She tries to push open closed doors inside the house and gets very upset when she can't do it. I don't know why that is. But it has to do something with curiosity.

super glueing your cat to the door will usally cause them to meow at the door, try glueing it to your fridge & see if it meows a lot their aswell, if it does it might want some milk,

he wants to tell you some thing, and then follow him down to the bottom of the garden, there is an escaped prisoner there wearing his white and blue stripy uniform and your cat is trying to save the day...
bet you wished you'd wathced lassie a bit more closely now- its probably too late and the prisoner has escaped with his bag of loot! shame on you- this is what your cat is now yelling furiously at yout legs.

My cat does this when there are other cats around. He gets really angry and starts yelling if any cat gets near the house.
